Shalom, firstly I’m grateful to God for the opportunity to join in this Next Generation Project 2023. If not for His miracle work, I would not have got the chance to experience serving the students in SMK A for the Lord together with my supportive teammates. Every member was committed in serving the Lord and is on fire to encourage the students of SMK A. Through His work in our team, we were able to achieve Next Generation Project’s goals of equipping the Christian students to go and continue to spread the Good News.
Over the course of two weeks, I have learned a lot, not just about the Gospel and to share it, or how to lead a team, but also to get to better understand the challenges and needs of the young generation as well as how to effectively communicate with them. I have realized that inspiring young minds requires a multifaceted approach. It is important that we first connect with them on a personal level, sharing relatable stories, and empathizing with their challenges. These are key to gaining their trust. I have also gained the experience of sharing the Gospel through the 4SL session with students and learned a creative and more effective way to do so. I believe God has touched the heart of these students, that they are open to share their struggles with us and the other students in our breakout sessions. Moreover, through this learning experience, I can confidently approach a friend to listen to the challenges they are facing and share the Word of God. This involves empathizing with their challenges, listening actively, and offering support in a positive and inclusive manner.
